Bus transceiver for 5V RS-485/RS-422 links
The MAX13088ECSA+ is a half-duplex transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communication buses, rated at 16 Mbps over a single 5V supply rail (4.5V to 5.5V). The 100 mV receiver hysteresis helps reject noise on long cable runs — a practical advantage when the bus runs through an electrically noisy environment like a factory floor. With one driver and one receiver (1/1 configuration), it suits point-to-point or multi-drop networks where only one node transmits at a time.
Temperature grade and supply constraints
The commercial temperature range (0°C to 70°C) limits this variant to indoor, climate-controlled equipment — not for engine bays, outdoor telecom cabinets, or downhole tools. The 5V-only supply means it cannot be dropped into a 3.3V RS-485 bus without a level translator or a different transceiver variant.
