16 Mbps full-duplex bus transceiver for RS-422/RS-485 networks
The MAX13086EASD+ is a single-channel full-duplex transceiver supporting both RS-422 and RS-485 protocols at data rates up to 16 Mbps. The 1/1 driver/receiver count means one differential driver and one differential receiver in the same package — the full-duplex topology lets you send and receive simultaneously on separate twisted pairs, unlike half-duplex parts that share a single bus. The 100 mV receiver hysteresis filters out noise picked up on long cable runs — on a 100-meter RS-485 trunk, that hysteresis is the difference between a clean byte and a corrupted frame from ground-loop transients. This part handles the thermal cycling of an outdoor telecom cabinet or the under-hood ambient of an engine-control module without derating the data rate.
Housed in a 14-SOIC package with a 3.90 mm body width — the standard SOIC-14 footprint that matches thousands of existing PCB layouts. Surface-mount assembly with a 1.27 mm pitch; the reflow profile follows the standard JEDEC MSL level for this package family.
