Simultaneous-sampling SAR ADC in a 48-LQFP
The MAX1305ECM+ is a 12-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC from Analog Devices, built around a MUX-S/H-ADC configuration that captures four single-ended inputs simultaneously. The 4:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio means each input has its own sample-and-hold, so the voltage on all four channels is frozen at the same instant — critical for phase-coherent measurements in multi-phase motor drives or three-phase power monitoring where the timing skew between channels must be below one sample period.
680k sps throughput and parallel interface
Sampling at 680k samples per second, the ADC delivers one 12-bit result every 1.47 µs. The parallel data interface lets a host controller read the conversion word in a single bus cycle — no serial clock overhead. Reference selection is flexible: use the internal bandgap for a stand-alone design, or drive an external reference when the system already has a precision voltage source.
The part is available for new designs and replacement orders alike.
