Six-channel bidirectional level shifter for mixed-voltage buses
The MAX13035EETE+T is a six-channel bidirectional voltage level translator from Analog Devices, designed to bridge ICs operating on different supply rails without a direction-control signal. Rated for 100 Mbps data rate, it handles high-speed serial interfaces like SPI and UART where the propagation delay through a discrete FET-and-resistor translator would limit throughput.
Supply rails and output drive architecture
Each channel is bidirectional: the translator detects the direction of the data flow on a per-pin basis, so a single device handles mixed-direction buses without a separate DIR pin. Outputs are configurable as open-drain or push-pull — open-drain suits I²C-style wired-AND buses where multiple drivers share the line, while push-pull gives faster edge rates for point-to-point links. The 100 Mbps data rate is achievable in push-pull mode with a 15 pF load; in open-drain mode the pull-up resistor value sets the rise time, so the actual throughput depends on the bus capacitance and the chosen resistor.

Supplied on Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) — the TR quantity suits automated pick-and-place for production runs; CT is available for prototyping or small-batch builds.
Lifecycle status and compliance
RoHS3 compliant (2011/65/EU + 2015/863), with no restricted substances above the threshold limits — suitable for EU-market equipment and lead-free assembly lines. On-chip power-supply decoupling capacitors are integrated, reducing the external BOM by two MLCCs per rail — the datasheet still recommends a 0.1 µF ceramic at each supply pin for high-frequency bypass.
