What the thresholds mean on the bench
The MAX1232CPA+: Reset timeout is 250 ms minimum, which gives the downstream processor enough time to stabilize after power-up before the supervisor releases the reset line. The output is open-drain, so you can wire-OR it with other reset sources; the reset polarity is configurable as active high or active low, matching whatever the microcontroller's reset pin expects.
