Active production — no EOL risk for this BOM line
The MAX1167BCEE+T: No last-time-buy or obsolescence notice applies, so the BOM line is safe for both production and new builds.
16-bit SAR ADC at 200k samples per second — precision vs speed tradeoff
The architecture is a single-ended 4-channel MUX feeding a sample-and-hold, then the SAR core. The 1:1 S/H:ADC ratio means each channel is sampled sequentially under software control via the SPI interface — no simultaneous sampling, so the channel-to-channel skew equals the conversion time plus the MUX settling.
Split-rail supply — analog 5V, digital 2.7V–5.25V
The analog supply is fixed at 5V, while the digital supply accepts 2.7V to 5.25V — this split lets the ADC interface directly with a 3.3V or 5V host controller without external level shifters on the SPI bus. The reference can be internal or external, giving the designer flexibility to match the input range to the sensor output swing.
16-SSOP / 16-QSOP — footprint for tight boards
Supplied in a 16-lead SSOP (0.154-inch body width, 3.90 mm) and also listed with the equivalent 16-QSOP supplier device package. The Tape & Reel option suits volume pick-and-place assembly.
ROHS3 compliance — regulatory pass for global markets
Certified ROHS3 compliant, covering the full ten restricted substances plus the four phthalates. No exemptions or carve-outs are listed — the part ships ready for EU, UK, and other regulated markets without a compliance gap.
