12-bit SAR ADC at 300k SPS — sensor front-end fit
The MAX11626EEE+T is a 12-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC from Analog Devices, sampling at 300k samples per second across four single-ended inputs. The SAR architecture delivers a deterministic conversion time with no pipeline delay — each sample is ready on the next SPI clock edge, which matters for multiplexed sensor scanning where channel-to-channel latency must be consistent. The single 5V supply rail powers both the analog core and the digital interface, so no separate analog supply or charge-pump is needed. The reference can be either the internal bandgap or an external precision source, giving the designer a choice between BOM simplicity and absolute accuracy.
16-QSOP package and board integration
Housed in a 16-lead QSOP (0.154-inch body width, 3.90 mm wide), the MAX11626EEE+T occupies roughly half the board area of a traditional SOIC-16. The SPI data interface uses four wires (SCLK, DIN, DOUT, CS) and operates at clock rates up to the ADC's conversion cycle. No external level shifters are required when connecting to a 5V-tolerant MCU SPI port.
