94.4 ksps SAR ADC with I²C — what it means for your analog front end
The MAX11606EUA+ is a 10-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC from Analog Devices that samples at 94.4 ksps and communicates over an I²C bus. It integrates a 2- or 4-input multiplexer that accepts either differential or single-ended signals, plus a track-and-hold, making it a compact single-chip solution for digitizing multiple analog channels in industrial control, sensor monitoring, or battery-powered instrumentation. The internal reference saves a BOM line, but you can override it with an external reference for tighter accuracy when needed.
Input flexibility: differential or single-ended, 2 or 4 channels
The on-chip mux supports either two differential inputs or four single-ended inputs, selectable per configuration. Differential mode gives better common-mode rejection for noisy environments like motor drives or industrial sensors; single-ended mode maximizes channel count when signals share a clean ground. The 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio means each conversion samples the selected input directly with no dead cycle between channels.
5V supply, industrial temperature range
Both analog and digital supplies run from a single 5V rail, simplifying power routing. The -40°C to +85°C operating range qualifies it for factory-floor sensors, outdoor telecom cabinets, and under-hood automotive auxiliary modules. The 8-uMAX package (3.00 mm width) fits tight PCB layouts without sacrificing pin pitch for hand-assembly or rework.
Active lifecycle — no LTB risk for new designs
The MAX11606EUA+ carries an Active product status and is ROHS3 compliant.
