8-bit SAR ADC with I²C — signal chain fit
The MAX11600EKA+T: This is an 8-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC with a maximum sampling rate of 188k samples per second — fast enough for low-to-mid-speed sensor acquisition, battery monitoring, or control-loop feedback where 8-bit resolution is adequate. The data interface is I²C, a two-wire serial bus that keeps the pin count low and integrates easily with most microcontrollers without dedicated SPI or parallel ports. The input multiplexer accepts either 2 pseudo-differential or 4 single-ended channels, configurable through the I²C register map — useful for reading multiple analog signals from a single package.
SOT-23-8 package and supply rails
Housed in an SOT-23-8 surface-mount package (supplier device package SOT-23-8), the MAX11600EKA+T occupies minimal board area — suited for space-constrained designs like portable instruments or sensor modules. Both the analog and digital supply rails run from a single 5V supply, eliminating the need for separate analog and digital power domains and simplifying the power distribution network.
