116k SPS, 14-bit SAR — what the ratings mean for your signal chain
The MAX1149BEUP+ is a 14-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC sampling at 116k samples per second — fast enough to digitize a 10 kHz sensor signal with Nyquist margin, and the SAR architecture gives you a conversion result on each clock cycle with no pipeline delay. It accepts both differential and single-ended inputs through an internal multiplexer (configurable as 4 differential or 8 single-ended channels), so a single part can handle a mix of bridge sensors and single-ended voltage outputs without external signal conditioning.
Supply and interface — one rail, SPI bus
The SPI data interface (up to the ADC's conversion rate) connects directly to most microcontrollers' SPI peripherals; the external or internal reference option lets you trade off accuracy against BOM cost.
Package and temperature grade — board-fit and environment
Housed in a 20-TSSOP (4.40 mm width) surface-mount package, supplied in tube — not tape-and-reel, so factor that into your pick-and-place feeder setup if you're running high-volume assembly.
