Product details

Active production — 10-bit SAR ADC on I²C

The MAX1139EEE+T is an active-production 10-bit SAR ADC from Analog Devices, sampling at 94.4 kSPS over an I²C bus. The architecture is a successive-approximation register (SAR) with a 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio, meaning each conversion captures one sample per start command — no pipeline latency. The 94.4 kSPS rate is the aggregate throughput; scanning all 12 single-ended channels drops the per-channel rate to about 7.9 kSPS, which sets the upper bound for time-multiplexed measurements.

Input MUX — 6 differential or 12 single-ended

The input multiplexer supports two configurations: 6 differential inputs or 12 single-ended inputs. Differential mode rejects common-mode noise on long sensor leads — useful for thermocouple or bridge-type measurements. Single-ended mode doubles the channel count for voltage monitoring where the signal shares a common ground with the ADC reference. The reference can be supplied externally or drawn from the internal bandgap, which simplifies the BOM when no precision external reference is already on the board.

Supply and temperature — single-rail industrial grade

The 16-SSOP (3.90 mm width) and 16-QSOP packages are fine-pitch surface-mount — the QSOP body is the supplier device package, and the footprint is shared across several Analog Devices SAR converters, allowing a board layout to accept multiple pin-compatible ADC options without a respin.
