10-bit SAR ADC with I²C — what it is and where it fits
The Analog Devices MAX1136EUA+ is a 10-bit SAR ADC with an integrated input multiplexer, sample-and-hold, and I²C-compatible serial interface.
Input configuration — differential vs single-ended
In differential mode, two input pairs are available; common-mode rejection helps when the signal source is remote or shares a ground return with noisy digital circuits. In single-ended mode, four channels are available, each referenced to analog ground. The reference can be the internal bandgap or an external voltage applied to the REF pin — external reference mode gives ratiometric measurement capability for bridge sensors.
