10-bit SAR ADC with PGA and 500k throughput
The MAX11340ATJ+ is a 10-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC from Analog Devices, sampling at 500k samples per second. It integrates a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and a multiplexer that supports 8, 15, or 16 inputs in differential, pseudo-differential, or single-ended configurations. The 500k throughput with a 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio means each conversion cycle captures one sample directly from the selected input — no pipeline delay. The PGA extends the effective dynamic range for low-level sensor signals before the SAR core quantizes them.
Supply rails and temperature grade
Both analog and digital supplies run from 2.35 V to 3.6 V, simplifying single-rail designs. The external reference (REF) input allows the user to set the full-scale range independent of the supply, matching the ADC span to the sensor output swing.
The 32-WFQFN exposed-pad package (5x5 mm, 32-TQFN) provides a low-inductance thermal path to the PCB ground plane. Surface-mount assembly with tube delivery — the tube protects the leads from mechanical damage during handling.
