The MAX1132BEAP+ is a 16-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC sampling at 200k samples per second over a single-ended input. The 200k SPS rate sets the Nyquist ceiling at 100 kHz for the input signal — adequate for digitizing audio-band sensor outputs, vibration signatures from accelerometers, or current-sense amplifier outputs in servo drives. The SPI data interface connects directly to the serial peripheral interface of most microcontrollers without glue logic. The 16-bit conversion result transfers in two 8-bit bytes over the bus; the bus clock speed must accommodate the 200k SPS throughput — a 3.2 MHz SPI clock (16 bits × 200k) is the minimum, with margin for the chip-select overhead.

Both the analog and digital supply rails run from a single 5 V supply — no separate analog rail or level translator needed for the SPI bus when the host microcontroller also operates at 5 V.
