18-bit sigma-delta ADC with built-in PGA
The Analog Devices MAX11209EEE+ is an 18-bit sigma-delta ADC in a 16-QSOP surface-mount package. It samples at 480 SPS and includes a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) on-chip, which lets you amplify small differential signals before conversion without an external op-amp stage. The SPI data interface keeps the digital side simple — three or four wires to the host MCU. Typical applications include weigh scales, pressure sensors, temperature measurement, and portable instrumentation where 18-bit resolution and low-speed precision are the priority.
480 SPS and the noise trade-off
The sigma-delta architecture oversamples the input and trades conversion rate for noise rejection.
Separate analog and digital supply rails
The analog supply runs from 2.7 V to 3.6 V; the digital supply accepts 1.7 V to 3.6 V.
Industrial temperature range and package
Rated for -40°C to 85°C, the MAX11209EEE+ fits industrial environments: factory-floor data acquisition, outdoor sensor nodes, and equipment that sees temperature swings. The 16-QSOP package (3.90 mm body width) is a compact footprint for space-constrained PCBs. It ships in Tube — the standard for low-volume prototyping and small production runs.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The MAX11209EEE+ is listed as Active and ROHS3 compliant. There is no end-of-life notice or last-time-buy window.
