8-bit SAR ADC with integrated MUX
The MAX1039AEEE+T from Analog Devices is an 8-bit successive-approximation (SAR) ADC that packs a 6- or 12-input multiplexer, sample-and-hold, and I²C interface into a 16-pin QSOP. It converts at 188k samples per second, accepting either differential or single-ended inputs through the MUX. The reference can be internal or external, giving flexibility for ratiometric or absolute measurements.
Parametric fit and BOM integration
At 188k SPS, this ADC handles moderate-speed sensor acquisition — think temperature, pressure, or current-sense outputs that change at sub-kHz rates. The I²C bus runs at standard or fast mode; the 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio means no pipeline delay between channels when switching the MUX.
