10-bit SAR ADC with on-chip temperature sensor
The MAX1029BCEP+ is a 10-bit successive-approximation (SAR) ADC from Analog Devices, sampling at 300k samples per second over an SPI interface. It integrates a temperature sensor on-chip, so a single part can digitize both analog signals and die temperature without an external thermistor or sensor front-end.
Input configuration and channel count
The input multiplexer supports either 6 differential or 12 single-ended channels, configurable via the SPI interface — the same BOM line covers both topologies by changing the mux setting in software. The S/H-ADC architecture with a 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio means each conversion samples the held value directly, no pipeline delay between channels.
Single-supply rail and reference flexibility
The reference can be driven externally or sourced from the internal bandgap, giving the layout engineer the option to share a precision reference across multiple ADCs on the same board.
