Programmable silicon oscillator for long-duration timing
The LTC6995CS6-1#TRPBF is a silicon oscillator from the TimerBlox® family that generates a square-wave output programmable from 29.1 µHz to 977 Hz. That bottom end — 29.1 µHz — corresponds to a period of about 9.5 hours, so this part can replace a discrete RC timer or a low-frequency crystal oscillator in applications like periodic wake-up, watchdog timeout, or interval measurement without an external timing capacitor. The frequency is set by a single external resistor (Rset) between the SET pin and ground, with no other timing components needed. The output is a rail-to-rail square wave that drives CMOS logic directly.
Supply range and current draw for battery-powered designs
Operating from 2.25 V to 5.5 V, the LTC6995CS6-1#TRPBF covers both 3.3 V and 5 V logic rails without a separate regulator. The typical supply current is 135 µA, which is low enough for always-on timer functions in battery-powered equipment where every microamp extends shelf life. The commercial temperature grade (0°C to 70°C) suits indoor, office, or consumer environments. If your application sees -40°C or +85°C ambient, you need the industrial-temperature variant from the same family.
Active production — no lifecycle risk for new designs
Analog Devices continues to manufacture this part, so it can be designed into new BOMs without end-of-life concern. The TSOT-23-6 package is a standard surface-mount footprint with 0.95 mm pitch, easy to route on a two-layer board.
