Programmable silicon oscillator in TSOT-23-6
The LTC6992IS6-1#TRPBF is a silicon oscillator from the TimerBlox® family that generates a square-wave output from 3.81 Hz to 1 MHz without external timing resistors or capacitors — frequency is set by a single resistor between the SET pin and ground. Supply current is 365 µA typical across the full 2.25V to 5.5V range, making it suitable for always-on or battery-backed timing functions where a crystal oscillator would draw more current.
Frequency programming and supply flexibility
The output frequency is programmed by the resistor value on the SET pin — no external capacitor or crystal needed. The 3.81 Hz to 1 MHz span covers low-frequency watchdog timers through high-frequency PWM clock sources. The 2.25V to 5.5V supply rail means the part runs on 3.3V or 5V logic rails without a separate LDO. The TSOT-23-6 package footprint is 2.9 mm × 1.6 mm — a compact alternative to a crystal + inverter pair for space-constrained boards.
