Silicon oscillator – no quartz, no external components
The LTC6930HMS8-7.37#PBF is a silicon oscillator from Analog Devices that generates a fixed 7.3728 MHz clock output without requiring an external crystal or resonator. This eliminates the startup time and mechanical fragility of quartz, making it a drop-in replacement for crystal-based clock sources in UART, CAN, and SPI timing chains. Supply voltage spans 1.7V to 5.5V, covering both 3.3V and 5V logic families directly. The 853 µA typical supply current keeps the thermal budget low even in enclosed or battery-powered designs.
Temperature grade and package – industrial range, small footprint
The 8-MSOP package (3.00 mm width) fits tight PCB layouts and matches the footprint of common crystal oscillator cans. The I-grade variant (LTC6930IMS8-7.37#PBF) is limited to 85°C; if your BOM already specifies the H-grade, confirm the temperature requirement before substituting the lower-grade part.
