Battery stack monitor for 1 to 12 series cells

The LTC6804IG-1#TRPBF is a multi-chemistry battery monitor IC that measures up to 12 series-connected cells with a total measurement error of less than 1.2 mV. It communicates over either an I²C or SPI serial interface, giving the system designer flexibility in bus topology and isolation strategy. Integrated over- and under-voltage fault protection allows the part to flag out-of-range cells without continuous host polling, reducing firmware overhead in the battery management controller.

Industrial temperature range and package

Supplied in a 48-lead SSOP package (0.209-inch body width, 5.30 mm), the part uses a standard fine-pitch surface-mount footprint. The tape-and-reel option (TR suffix) suits automated pick-and-place assembly for production volumes.
