What the 8.5V to 80V supply range means for your backplane
Programmable features include Auto Retry, Current Limit, Fault Timeout, Latched Fault, OVP, Slew Rate, and UVLO.
I²C monitoring — the difference between guessing and knowing
Most hot swap controllers just gate the supply and latch off on fault. The LTC4260CGN#PBF adds an I²C interface that lets a system microcontroller read the output voltage, load current, and fault status. For a base-station line card or a server blade that must report its health to a chassis manager, that telemetry path saves a separate ADC and optocoupler. The I²C bus also allows the host to adjust the current-limit threshold on the fly — useful for sequencing loads during startup.
Temperature grade: indoor use only
Rated for 0°C to 70°C, this is a commercial-temperature part. It belongs in a server room, a telecom central office, or a factory floor with climate control — not in an outdoor cabinet in Phoenix or a freezer warehouse. If the design needs -40°C to 85°C, the LTC4260IGN#TRPBF is the same controller in an industrial-temperature grade.
Package and mounting
24-SSOP package (0.154" body width, 3.90 mm) surface-mount footprint. No heatsink required for the controller.
Lifecycle and compliance
ROHS3 compliant and lead-free (#PBF suffix). The LTC4260CUH#PBF is a functional peer in a different package.
