The internal switch eliminates the external MOSFET and sense resistor that a controller-only solution needs, saving board area in a 16-DFN (5x3 mm) footprint.

Programmable current limit and fault timeout

You set the inrush current ramp rate and the fault-timer duration through external components — the controller limits the current during startup and, if the fault persists past the timeout, latches off the switch. The thermal-limit and undervoltage-lockout (UVLO) features protect the pass element and the downstream load during brownout or over-temperature conditions.
