1-cell Li-Ion charger in a 3x3 DFN
The LTC4062EDD#PBF is a single-cell Lithium-Ion battery charger IC from Analog Devices that terminates at 4.2V and delivers up to 1A programmable charge current. It lives in a 10-lead WFDFN with exposed pad (3x3 mm) — the pad must be soldered to a copper plane on the PCB to sink the thermal dissipation from a 1A charge cycle in a compact handset or portable device.
Charge control and interface
The charger uses a constant-current / constant-voltage profile with programmable charge current via an external resistor. A programmable safety timer backs up the termination — if the battery doesn't reach 4.2V within the set window, the timer cuts off charging. The USB interface means the part can draw power directly from a USB port (5V nominal), with the 8V max supply headroom covering the port's tolerance band. The single-cell design suits Li-Ion packs in Bluetooth headsets, wearables, and portable instruments.
Temperature grade and sourcing posture
Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient — industrial temperature range, so it handles outdoor portable gear or enclosures near hot surfaces without a derating headache.
