The LTC3588EMSE-2#PBF from Analog Devices is an energy harvesting power supply IC designed to extract micro-watts from sources like piezoelectric, solar, or thermoelectric transducers and deliver a regulated output to a load or storage capacitor. Its 1.5 µA supply current means the chip's own overhead is negligible compared to the harvested energy — a piezoelectric element generating 10 µW at a few Hz still has most of that power available for the application, not wasted in the regulator. The input voltage range of 14 V to 20 V suits the open-circuit output of a typical piezoelectric stack or a small solar panel under load; the internal rectifier and buck converter handle the wide swing without external clamping.
