Buck-boost regulator for unregulated input rails
The LTC3130IUDC#PBF is a single-output, adjustable buck-boost switching regulator from Analog Devices. It accepts an input from 2.4 V to 25 V and delivers up to 600 mA at an adjustable output from 1 V to 25 V. The 1.2 MHz fixed switching frequency keeps external inductor and capacitor values small. Synchronous rectification is built in, so no external catch diode is needed — that saves a component and a placement step on the pick-and-place line.
What the 2.4 V to 25 V input range means on the bench
The 2.4 V minimum and 25 V maximum define the input range. The 600 mA output suits small loads.
Package and temperature range
It lives in a 20-lead QFN with an exposed pad, 3 mm by 4 mm. That pad needs a good thermal via pattern under it — the scorch mark on a dead board often traces back to a regulator that lifted its own pad because the ground plane was starved of vias. The operating junction temperature range is -40°C to 125°C, so it can sit in an engine bay or an outdoor telecom enclosure without derating drama.
Lifecycle and sourcing
This part is listed as Active and ROHS3 compliant. We source it through independent distribution and quote it to order against an RFQ.
