Device identity and bus fit
The LTC2851IMS8#TRPBF is a full-duplex RS422/RS485 transceiver from Analog Devices, packing one driver and one receiver into an 8-MSOP package. It handles signaling at 20 Mbps — fast enough for high-throughput industrial backplanes or multi-drop sensor busses where the bus turnaround time limits the polling cycle.
Receiver hysteresis and noise margin
The 25 mV of receiver hysteresis filters out noise on long cable runs — on a 1 km RS485 bus with common-mode shifts, that hysteresis prevents the receiver from chattering on the differential signal's zero crossing.
Supplied in an 8-MSOP (3.00 mm width) package — the same footprint as the 8-TSSOP, so it drops into existing layouts without a board spin. Supplied on tape-and-reel for volume assembly.
