Active 12-bit DAC in a reflow-friendly SC-70-6
The LTC2630AISC6-LM12#TRMPBF: It settles to within 1 LSB in 4.4 µs typical — fast enough for closed-loop control in motor drives or programmable power supplies where the update rate lands in the tens of kilohertz range. The SC-70-6 package (also known as SOT-363) is a compact 2.0 × 2.1 mm body with 0.65 mm pitch — standard for low-pin-count analog parts. It places cleanly on a two-layer board and survives a standard lead-free reflow profile without tombstoning risk, provided the MSL is observed before the oven.
Single-supply rail and SPI interface simplify layout
Both the analog and digital supply pins share a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V rail — no separate AVDD/DVDD split, which cuts one regulator and one decoupling cap from the BOM. The SPI data interface uses the standard 4-wire protocol (SCK, SDI, CS, LDAC) and is compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V logic families without external level shifting. The internal reference is derived from the supply voltage — the output full-scale tracks the rail, so accuracy depends on the supply tolerance. For applications needing a stable 2.5 V or 4.096 V reference, an external reference can override the internal one.
Industrial temperature range and compliance
Rated for -40°C to 85°C operation, the LTC2630AISC6-LM12#TRMPBF covers the industrial temperature band — suitable for outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor sensors, and under-hood electronics that see 85°C ambient. The integral nonlinearity is ±0.5 LSB max, and the differential nonlinearity is ±1 LSB max — both specified over the full temperature range, so the monotonicity guarantee holds at the hot and cold ends. ROHS3 compliant — no restricted substances above the exemption thresholds, which clears EU and UKCA regulatory gates without a waiver.
