Active 16-bit sigma-delta ADC with multiplexer
The LTC2495CUHF#PBF is an active-production 16-bit sigma-delta ADC from Analog Devices, integrating an 8- or 16-channel input multiplexer (MUX-ADC configuration) with a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and an on-chip temperature sensor. Sampling at 15 conversions per second, it targets low-speed, high-resolution measurement applications where noise rejection and linearity matter more than throughput.
Input flexibility and interface
The ADC accepts both differential and single-ended inputs, configurable across 8 or 16 channels depending on the mode — differential pairs halve the channel count to 8, while single-ended mode enables all 16. Communication runs over an I2C data interface, with a selectable address pin allowing multiple devices on the same bus without address conflict. An external voltage reference sets the full-scale range, giving the designer control over the input span independent of the supply rails.
Supply and package details
Both analog and digital supply rails operate from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, simplifying power distribution in mixed-voltage systems. Housed in a 38-lead WFQFN with exposed pad (5x7 mm body), the device is surface-mount and ships in tube packaging. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C, suitable for commercial and industrial indoor environments.
