Active 12-bit SAR ADC with I2C interface
The LTC2309HF#PBF: The 14k samples-per-second throughput suits low-to-moderate speed industrial monitoring, temperature logging, or battery-voltage scanning where the I2C bus keeps wiring simple and the 12-bit resolution gives 1.22 mV per LSB at a 5 V reference — adequate for 0.1 % accuracy on a 0–10 V signal with external scaling.
8-channel input flexibility and I2C addressing
The eight analog inputs can be configured as eight single-ended channels or four differential pairs, selected via the I2C-compatible interface. The selectable address feature allows up to eight LTC2309 devices on the same I2C bus, expanding to 64 single-ended or 32 differential channels without additional GPIO — useful for dense sensor arrays in a control cabinet. The reference can be internal (on-chip) or external, and the ADC operates from a single 5 V supply for both analog and digital rails — no dual-supply routing needed. The 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio means each conversion samples the input once, so the multiplexer settling time between channels must be respected in the firmware timing.
20-TSSOP package and industrial temperature range
The tube packaging is typical for prototype and low-volume builds; for reel/tape quantities the ordering suffix changes. ROHS3 compliant — no exemptions for lead in solder or other restricted substances.
