Programmable silicon oscillator — one resistor sets the clock
The LTC1799CS5#TRPBF is a silicon oscillator that generates a square-wave clock from 1 kHz to 33 MHz using a single external resistor — no crystal, no ceramic resonator, no external capacitors. The frequency is set by the resistor value; the datasheet provides the formula and a table of standard frequencies. Supply current is 7 mA typical at the high end of the frequency range.
