One controller for buck, boost, or SEPIC
The LTC1624CS8#PBF is a current-mode DC/DC controller supporting buck, boost, and SEPIC topologies. The controller drives an external N-channel MOSFET.
200 kHz switching — inductor sizing trade-off
Switching frequency is fixed at 200 kHz. No clock-sync option here.
Wide input range, single output, no synchronous rectifier
Supply range runs from 3.5 V to 36 V. The single output can be configured for positive or negative voltage. There is no synchronous rectifier.
Active lifecycle and ROHS3 compliance
Linear Technology (now Analog Devices) lists the LTC1624CS8#PBF as Active with ROHS3 compliance. No last-time-buy risk for new designs. The 8-SOIC package is widely stocked and easy to source through independent distribution.
8-SOIC — rework-friendly footprint
The 8-SOIC (0.154-inch body width, 3.90 mm) is a standard gull-wing package. Under a hot-air station the part lifts cleanly with minimal pad disturbance — no hidden thermal pad underneath. Reflow profile follows standard lead-free (ROHS3) solder paste. The tube shipping medium is fine for bench work; if you need tape-and-reel for pick-and-place, order the LTC1624CS8#TRPBF variant instead.
