What this synchronous driver does on your rail
The LT8310EFE#TRPBF is a synchronous MOSFET driver IC from Analog Devices, purpose-built for forward converter topologies. It drives the primary-side MOSFET and the synchronous rectifier, cutting the rectifier diode drop out of the efficiency equation. It accepts a supply from 6V to 100V, which covers the common industrial bus voltages — 12V, 24V, 48V, and 72V nominal — without an external bias regulator. The controller draws 3.8 mA quiescent current, a reasonable figure for a synchronous driver that must keep the gate drive circuits alive during light-load or standby conditions.
