100V LED driver controller with multi-topology flexibility
The LT3756IMSE#PBF is a DC DC controller from Analog Devices designed as a high-voltage LED driver. It supports analog and PWM dimming, making it suitable for applications requiring precise brightness control. The controller operates across multiple topologies including flyback, SEPIC, step-down (buck), and step-up (boost), giving designers flexibility in power stage architecture. With a single output rated to 100V and no internal switch, it drives an external MOSFET to handle the load current, keeping the thermal dissipation off the controller. The switching frequency is programmable from 100kHz to 1MHz, allowing the designer to trade off inductor size against switching losses. The supply input range spans 6V to 100V, accommodating automotive battery rails, industrial 48V supplies, and high-voltage LED strings directly without an extra bias regulator. Housed in a 16-lead MSOP with exposed pad (16-MSOP-EP), the package provides a low thermal resistance path to the PCB. The operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C qualifies it for under-hood automotive, outdoor lighting, and industrial environments where ambient temperatures can exceed 85°C.
Active lifecycle — no obsolescence risk for new designs
The LT3756IMSE#PBF carries an Active lifecycle status per the manufacturer. It is ROHS3 compliant, meeting current environmental requirements for lead-free assembly.
