Automotive-grade active-clamp forward controller
The LT3752HFE#WPBF from Analog Devices is an active-clamp synchronous forward controller designed for step-up/step-down isolated power conversion in automotive and industrial environments. It carries an Automotive grade rating and AEC-Q100 qualification, making it suitable for under-hood and chassis-domain power supplies where reliability screening is mandatory. The controller operates from a 6.5V to 100V supply rail, so it can connect directly to a 12V, 24V, or 48V automotive bus without an intermediate regulator, and its 150°C junction temperature rating supports operation in high-ambient locations like the engine bay or transmission tunnel.
Package and thermal layout
The 38-lead TSSOP-EP (exposed pad) package is the only package option. The controller's 100kHz–500kHz switching range and 95% duty cycle mean the transformer and output stage can be sized for a given power level, but the thermal pad is the bottleneck — without proper via stitching, the part will thermally limit before the electrical ratings are reached.
