Charger IC for multi-chemistry battery packs
The Analog Devices LT1769IFE#TRPBF is a constant-current programmable battery charger IC supporting multi-chemistry cells — Li-Ion, NiMH, NiCd, and lead-acid — in a single design. It delivers up to 2A charge current to battery packs rated to 20V max, powered from a supply rail up to 28V. The 20-TSSOP with exposed pad (EP) package keeps the thermal path short for sustained charging at the full 2A. Over-voltage fault protection on the output catches a failed sense resistor or open-cell condition before the pack sees excess voltage.
Package and mounting
Surface-mount 20-TSSOP with exposed pad (0.173" body width, 4.40 mm). The exposed pad must be soldered to a copper plane on the PCB for thermal dissipation — without it, the 2A charge current will push the junction above the rated operating temperature.
