3 drivers, 5 receivers — RS232 in a 24-pin DIP
The LT1133ACN#PBF is an RS232 full-duplex transceiver from Analog Devices, with three drivers and five receivers in a 24-DIP through-hole package. Data rate is rated at 250 kBd.
Supply rail and package — what fits the BOM
Operates from a single 4.5V to 5.5V supply — a standard 5V rail, no charge-pump needed for the RS232 levels. The 24-pin PDIP is a legacy through-hole footprint; if your board already routes a 0.300" DIP socket, this drops in without layout changes. Compared to the ADM202JNZ (2/2 drivers/receivers) or ADM233LJNZ (120 kbps, 2/2), the LT1133ACN#PBF gives you three extra receive channels in the same package width. The ADM222ANZ offers a wider -40°C to 85°C range but only 2/2 count — so if you need the extra receivers and can live with commercial temp, this part consolidates the BOM.
Active production — no obsolescence clock ticking
For a storeroom keeper, this means the part is still in regular production and can be ordered against a BOM line without a last-time-buy scramble. Store the tubes in a dry environment; the PDIP body is not moisture-sensitive like a QFP, but long-term humidity can tarnish the lead finish.
