Charge-pump inverter with fixed -Vin output
The ICL7662CPA+ is a charge-pump voltage inverter from Analog Devices that generates a regulated negative output equal to the input voltage (-Vin) from a positive rail between 4.5 V and 20 V. The 10 kHz switching frequency is low enough to avoid the radiated noise headaches of higher-frequency converters — useful when the board shares a ground plane with sensitive analog front-ends.
Through-hole 8-DIP — breadboard and rework friendly
The 8-PDIP footprint is a standard 0.100-inch pitch — no fine-pitch soldering, no BGA rework station. A rework tech can swap it in under a minute with a desoldering iron.
Commercial temperature grade — bench and indoor use
No synchronous rectifier is integrated — the standard diode-based topology keeps the BOM simple and the cost low.
