Dual CMOS op-amp for single-supply signal chains
The Maxim Integrated ICL7621DCPA+ is a dual CMOS operational amplifier with rail-to-rail output, designed for low-power, single-supply or split-supply analog signal conditioning. Housed in an 8-pin PDIP through-hole package, it delivers a gain-bandwidth product of 1.4 MHz and a slew rate of 1.6 V/µs, making it suitable for audio filtering, sensor buffering, and general-purpose loop control in commercial-temperature (0°C to 70°C) equipment such as bench instruments, office peripherals, and appliance control boards.
Supply range and power budget
Operates from a 2 V to 16 V supply. Each amplifier draws 1 mA, total quiescent current 2 mA.
Input characteristics for high-impedance interfaces
The CMOS input stage gives a 1 pA input bias current, which preserves signal integrity when interfacing with high-source-impedance sensors like photodiodes or pH probes. The input offset voltage is rated at 15 mV — typical for a general-purpose CMOS amplifier, not a precision part, so budget for Vos error in DC-coupled applications.
Lifecycle and compliance
It is ROHS3 compliant, so it meets current EU material restrictions for new designs and replacement builds alike.
