10 kΩ, 128-tap digital pot with non-volatile memory
The DS3501U+ is a single-channel, 128-tap digital potentiometer from Analog Devices, configured with a linear taper and a nominal end-to-end resistance of 10 kΩ. Its non-volatile memory retains the wiper position through a power cycle, so the calibration or trim value is present at system power-on without a software reload — a key advantage in set-and-forget analog adjustments like VCO bias or LCD contrast. The part communicates over an I²C interface with a selectable address, allowing multiple DS3501U+ devices on the same bus without address conflicts.
Supply rails and temperature range
This split-supply architecture lets the digital interface run at a lower logic voltage while the analog wiper swings across a wider voltage range — useful when the pot is used as a voltage divider in a higher-voltage signal path. The temperature coefficient is ±4 ppm/°C typical, meaning the resistance drifts less than 0.04% over a 100°C swing. For a 10 kΩ pot, that is under 4 Ω of change — negligible in most precision divider applications.
