1-Wire EEPROM in a three-pin TO-92
The Maxim DS28E07+ is a 1Kbit serial EEPROM that communicates over a single-contact 1-Wire interface, needing only one data line and a ground return to transfer data to a host microcontroller. Organized as 256 x 4 bits, it stores small configuration parameters, calibration constants, or serialisation data in a non-volatile array. The 2 µs access time keeps read cycles tight enough that a typical MCU polling the bus does not need extra wait states. Supply range spans 3V to 5.25V, covering both 3.3V and 5V logic rails without a level translator.
Through-hole footprint, industrial temperature range
The DS28E07+ comes in a TO-92-3 through-hole package (TO-226-3, TO-92-3 (TO-226AA)), the same three-lead outline used by many small-signal transistors and temperature sensors. It drops into a standard 0.1-inch pitch PCB footprint with no reflow profile needed — hand-solder or wave-solder friendly. The operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C qualifies it for industrial environments, outdoor telecom cabinets, and factory-floor sensor nodes where commercial-grade parts drift out of spec.
Active production, no end-of-life concern
Maxim lists the DS28E07+ as Active on the product status. ROHS3 compliant per the compliance listing.
