The DS2756E+T&R is an active-production Analog Devices battery monitor for single-cell Lithium Ion/Polymer packs, communicating over a 1-Wire interface.
What the 1-Wire interface and cell count mean for the BOM
The 1-Wire interface reduces the pin count to a single data line plus ground, which simplifies the harness or PCB trace routing between the battery pack and the host controller. Because the part monitors exactly one cell, it fits designs with a single-series Li-Ion or Li-Polymer cell — common in portable instruments, handheld terminals, and medical devices where the pack voltage stays at 3.6 V to 4.2 V nominal. If the battery monitor must log data below freezing or above 70°C, a wider-temperature-grade part is needed.
