Active production, 4Kbit 1-Wire EEPROM in SOIC-8
The Maxim Integrated DS24B33S+ is a 4Kbit serial EEPROM communicating over a single-wire 1-Wire interface. Organized as 256 x 16 bits, it stores calibration constants, serial numbers, or configuration data in a non-volatile memory that retains contents without power. The 2 µs access time is fast enough for most identification and parameter-recall tasks over the 1-Wire bus. Supply range spans 2.8V to 5.25V, covering 3.3V and 5V logic rails without a level shifter. Operating temperature covers -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for industrial and outdoor equipment enclosures.
Supply voltage and temperature grade — what they mean for fit
The 2.8V minimum supply means this part runs directly from a 3.3V rail with margin, and the 5.25V maximum covers 5V-tolerant systems. No external regulator is needed if the bus master operates in the same range. The -40°C to +85°C rating covers the industrial temperature band: motor drives, outdoor telecom cabinets, and factory-floor sensors all fall within this envelope. For a cold-start scenario at -40°C, the 1-Wire timing may stretch slightly, but the spec guarantees operation across the full range.
Package and mounting
Supplied in an 8-pin SOIC package (body width 5.30 mm), surface-mount soldered to a standard SOIC-8 footprint. The Tube shipping format is typical for prototype and low-volume builds; reels are available for production runs. The package is MSL 1, so no bake is required before reflow as long as the moisture barrier bag is intact.
Lifecycle and sourcing
It is ROHS3 compliant.
