896-bit EEPROM for configuration and calibration data
The DS2460S+ is a 896-bit serial EEPROM organized as 112 x 8 bits, communicating over an I²C bus at up to 400 kHz. It stores calibration constants, serial numbers, or configuration parameters that need to survive power cycles.
Active production — no obsolescence watch needed
The DS2460S+ carries an Active lifecycle status and ROHS3 compliance. For a BOM line that needs a small non-volatile store, this part is not on a last-time-buy schedule and has no imminent PCN risk.
Surface-mount footprint and rework
The 8-SOIC package (0.154" body width, 3.90 mm) is a standard footprint shared by thousands of EEPROMs, op-amps, and interface ICs. Hand-solderable for prototypes, and pick-and-place friendly for production. The tube shipping medium is typical for small quantities; reels are available for volume runs.
