1-Wire EEPROM — bus and memory organization
The DS2431G+T&R: This is a 1Kbit EEPROM with a 1-Wire interface — a single data line carries both power and communication, which simplifies the PCB routing and frees up GPIO on the host controller. Memory is organized as 256 x 4 bits; each write transaction addresses a 4-bit page, so the host firmware must handle byte-alignment when storing 8-bit data. Access time is 2 µs — fast enough for both standard and overdrive 1-Wire speeds; the bus master's timing window, not the EEPROM, sets the read cycle limit.

Housed in a 2-SFN (6x6 mm) surface-mount package — a compact, low-profile footprint suited for space-constrained designs where the 1-Wire bus reduces connector pin count.
