256-bit 1-Wire EEPROM for identification and calibration data
The Maxim DS2430AP+T&R is a 256-bit serial EEPROM communicating over a single-contact 1-Wire bus, organized as 32 x 8 bits. It stores non-volatile configuration, serialization, or calibration constants in a small 6-TSOC surface-mount package. The 1-Wire interface means only one GPIO and one pull-up resistor are needed on the host side, which simplifies PCB routing in space-constrained designs like sensor modules, battery packs, or accessory identification. Access time is 15 µs, which sets the read-cycle timing for the host firmware — the 1-Wire protocol handles the transaction at the bit level, so the 15 µs figure governs the time slot width for reading each bit. The part operates over -40°C to 85°C, covering industrial and outdoor telecom environments.
Memory organization — what 256 bits buys you
32 bytes of EEPROM, organized as 32 x 8 bits, accessed one byte at a time over the 1-Wire bus.
