Active EconoReset supervisor with a 4.62 V trip point
The DS1813-5+ is an Analog Devices EconoReset supervisor that asserts a reset signal when the monitored voltage drops below a 4.62 V threshold and holds it low for a minimum of 100 ms after the rail recovers. It is the fixed-threshold variant for 5 V logic rails — the trip point sits just below the nominal 5 V tolerance band, so it catches brownouts before the downstream logic starts behaving unpredictably.
Output stage and reset behaviour
The reset output is active-low, open-drain — it pulls low when the supply dips below threshold and releases high-impedance when the timeout expires. Because the output is open-drain, multiple supervisor outputs can be wire-ORed onto a common reset line; a pull-up resistor to the logic supply is required. The 100 ms minimum timeout gives the supply rail enough time to stabilise after a brownout before the processor starts executing.
TO-92 through-hole package and industrial temperature range
Housed in a 3-pin TO-92 (TO-226AA) package with a 0.100-inch pitch lead spacing, the DS1813-5+ is a through-hole part that suits legacy PCB layouts, prototyping boards, and designs where vibration resistance favours a soldered lead over a surface-mount package.
