64 taps, 10kΩ, linear — the field-swap story
The DS1809U-010+ is a 64-tap digital potentiometer from the Dallastat™ series, set at 10kΩ with a linear taper. It stores the wiper position in non-volatile memory, so on power-up it comes back where it was left — no need for a microcontroller to re-load the setting after every cycle. The pushbutton interface means you can adjust the resistance right on the board without any digital bus — two buttons (up/down) step through the 64 taps. That is handy for a field adjustment where you do not want to crack open firmware or bring a programmer.
Package and supply — what the board needs
Runs on a single 5V supply rail, which is common in industrial and instrumentation boards. The wiper resistance is 400Ω max, and the temperature coefficient runs 750 ppm/°C typical — for a 10kΩ pot that means the total resistance drifts about 7.5Ω per °C.
