Active production — a digital pot for trim and calibration
The DS1804Z-100+: It is a single-channel, 100-tap, linear-taper pot with 100 kOhm end-to-end resistance, stored in non-volatile memory so the wiper position holds through a power cycle.
The three-wire up/down interface (U/D, INC, CS) is a simple counter-based control: pull CS low, toggle INC to step the wiper, and release CS to store the position in non-volatile memory.
Temperature range and drift — industrial-grade stability
The 750 ppm/°C temperature coefficient means the end-to-end resistance shifts about 7.5% over a 100°C swing — a typical figure for a digital pot, but worth budgeting in a precision feedback network where the resistor ratio matters more than the absolute value.
Package and footprint — 8-SOIC, surface mount
The 400 ohm typical wiper resistance adds a series element in the signal path; for a voltage divider application this is negligible, but in a low-impedance feedback loop it shifts the gain slightly from the ideal resistor ratio.
Compliance — ROHS3, no exemptions
The DS1804Z-100+ is ROHS3 compliant, meaning it contains no restricted substances above the threshold limits and carries no exemption that might require a future material-change PCN.
