24-EDIP real-time clock with integrated NVSRAM
The DS17287-5+ is a parallel-interface real-time clock/calendar in a 24-pin EDIP (24-EDIP) through-hole package, integrating 2 KB of NVSRAM directly on the same silicon die. The 0.600-inch wide 24-DIP module footprint mates with standard through-hole sockets or solder holes; the 24-EDIP variant uses the same pinout as the DS17285/DS17286 family, so an existing board layout for those parts accepts this device without a spin.
Timekeeping formats and integrated alarm logic
The RTC tracks time in HH:MM:SS with selectable 12- or 24-hour format and maintains a YY-MM-DD-dd calendar that handles leap-year correction automatically. An on-chip alarm comparator generates an interrupt or a square-wave output on a dedicated pin — no external comparator or RTC polling loop is needed for periodic wake events. Daylight-saving time adjustment is handled in hardware; a single register write shifts the clock forward or back by one hour on the programmed transition date, eliminating the firmware overhead of tracking DST rules.
ROHS3 compliant per the manufacturer's declaration, with no exemption-listed substances in the package or lead-frame finish.
